New Law Requires Employers to Notify You of Your Workers' Comp Rights

As of February 1, 2026, California employers are required by a new law (SB 294, the Workplace Know Your Rights Act) to give every employee a written notice explaining their workers' compensation rights — including how to get medical care and disability pay after a work injury, plus contact information for the Division of Workers' Compensation. If your employer never gave you this notice, or you're unsure what your actual rights are, it may be worth a closer look.
